I don’t know that anything gets under my skin more than being told I am not supposed to judge per Matthew 7:1. This “do not judge card” is always thrown up by somebody displaying their ignorance of the bible. What gets under my skin even more is when a Christian responds with “well… um…. but… you see… um…. um…” and they begin to sound like our President with lots of “umm’s” and stuttering and no real response. I will post the entirety of what Jesus is saying in the first part of Matthew 7.
1“Do not judge, or you too will be judged. 2For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.3“Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? 4How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? 5You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.
If you read the entire passage you can clearly see Jesus is talking about judging hypocritically. He also tells us to judge in this passage. Once we have removed the plank from our eye, we can then remove the speck from our brother’s eye.
